We will open at 5pm on Friday November 29 (Paisley Parade Night) and the next day 11-7. We will be open until 9:30 on Paisley Late Night Social Dec 6.

In addition, we will be open Monday to Saturday from 11-7 until Dec 21

Every ticket holder will be entered in a draw for a bottle of Paul Martin’s maple syrup.
The draw will take place at 12:55 and winner must be present to win.

What a lovely day we had for our first market day!  We had 11 vendors in all and it was wonderful to see so many of our faithful customers returning again and again.


The most popular booth was the big wagon of perrenial and annual flowers from Horst’s Greenhouse. Angus Horst May 2013

The new vendors were:

1. Mary Jo McGillivary selling Epicure products and hosting a findraiser for Tim Bosma’s family.

2. Abby Miner, manager of the Wiarton market bringing her Maple Syrup products.

 After the glowing article so nicely written by MarthAnn in the Paisley Advocate, the fact that the Ransome’s didn’t show up surprised us all and many of our customers. It seems that they have decided not to come at all for the entire season. They will be sadly missed.

Every time a door is closed unexpectedly, it makes everyone stop and think. Hmm. What next? So, because we know that our customers loved the Ransome’s booth where they could sit and visit on Saturday mornings, ournext move will be to offer this opportunity to organizations in the village to serve our customers prepared food as fundraisers for themselves. This is a wonderful opportunity for Paisley. I hope many groups will take us up on it. We are all happy that our first day of business was also a big help to Back Eddies and The Big Dipper Bakery because we value these comrades very much.

Next week we are looking forward to seeing the North Canoe brought by the Saugeen Paddlers. It is a great photo opportunity so come on down.20130518_092017

Maple Syrup

The warming weather is making us think about maple syrup. mmm.  Can’t you just taste the sweetness?  Very soon, the sap will start running. Paul Martin is our big syrup maker and this year we will have a new syrup vendor as well with syrup products for the  BBQ. maple syrup cans

Tribute to our fellow vendor

Sad News:
Leo Vanderley, of Walkerton, a vendor at our market passed away this week. He was 79 years old. You will remember him and his wife Greta, selling baby blankets and intricate carvings, wind chimes and scrubbies among many other things. You can pay your respects and offer your condolences at the Cameron Funeral Home in Walkerton, Thursday, Jan 17 2-4 and 7-9 and the funeral will be at the Paisley Missionary Church on Jan 18 at 11 am.
He will be sadly missed at our market. He was a lovely, friendly addition.

Paul Martin’s Maple Syrup at Daydream Believers

Nothing is better than pancakes and maple syrup on a cold winter’s morning. No need to miss out. Even though the Farmers’ Market storefront is closed, you can still find this product at Daydream Believers  gift shop in the heart of the village.

Storefront open Nov 30 – Dec 24

Paisley Farmer Market vendors are sadly missed by the Paisley villagers and all their valuable customers. In response to this, the vendors have agreed to come together and create a 3 week storefront at 468 Queen St S (center of town) for the Christmas season. Grand Opening will be on the Parade Night (Nov 30) and of course we’ll be open til 10 for the Late Night Social (Dec 7). This is the second year that the vendors will be at the storefront for the Late Night Social and it was such a success last year that they have decided to stay there until Dec 24 this year.

Hours of operation are (at least) 10 AM – 4PM every day from Nov 30 to Dec 24.

This is it!

The end of another interesting season is upon us. Just 6 hours left. Not all vendors will be there today but I expect the ones who are, will sell out fast. Our drawing ticket is the Grand Feast Finalle in it’s third year. There may be many special treats but the most unique of all is the food booth where you can get a pork ribs or roast beef lunch. It will come complete with potatoes gravy and pie.

Only 4 weeks left!

Well, what wonderful weather we had for most of the summer. Not so great for growing but terrific for mingling at the market. It was fun to watch all the little groups chatting every Saturday morning.

Our core group of vendors grew very strong this season and we feel thankful for the commitment shown by everyone.

“It’s All About the Bling” has become a permanent fixture in the Paisley business collection and we are proud to think they built their roots at the market. Wendy and Taylor, a mother daughter team, create the most interesting pieces of jewlery. I notice older ladies and teenagers alike, being fascinated by the interesting selection. You can see their pieces on Facebook and we are hoping to see them at Paisley’s Late Night Social on Dec. 7 . I will add their information to our vendor list so you can reach them easily.

We also welcomed a new produce vendor this year. Lena Landei Country Culture is the name of her business. She sells her chemical free feild vegetables and cut flowers. She works on a farm and in her “spare time” grows this wonderful produce for us. It is her first year and I will say that the memory of her sweet carrots is not something I will forget soon.

Remember that there are just 4 weeks left until Thanksgiving – our GRAND FEAST FINALLE – and that means just 4 weeks left of gathering the crop into your pantry so that you have locally grown and mostly chemical free food to last you all season. The canners have been hard at work. Don’t miss out. Even that delicious sourdhough bread that pumpkin tartDonna makes freezes really well. I know my freezer will house some of that for as long as I can make it last. There is no need to have a lessor diet just because it is winter. But you have to plan ahead and you have to stock up now!
